Cynthia Phillips, LPCC-S

Cynthia earned her BA in Psychology at Miami University in Oxford, and her MA degree in Counseling from the University of Cincinnati.  She is credentialed as a Supervising Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC-S), and has worked in mental health for over 25 years.

Her work has taken her into some of Cincinnati’s most troubled neighborhoods like 8th and State, schools like Woodward/Taft/Aiken/Oyler/Rockdale/West High/Withrow, Community Centers and church basements; She knows that many unhappy people lead quiet lives of desperation in quarter-million dollar houses. Her desire in this work is to understand a person or a family, and make a connection that allows them to use existing strengths to make changes.

She has made educational presentations to, and facilitated groups for kids, teens, parents, and mental health professionals. A sampling of the titles include: Children in Divorce Situations; Single Parent Support Groups; Assessment and Treatment of Child Sexual Abuse; Prevention of Sexual Abuse (in various age groups); Non-Offending Parent Groups; Psychological Readiness in Self Defense; The Eroticized Child: Issues in Management and Treatment; Self Esteem; and Suicide Prevention.

“Whether in community mental health in the first part of my professional career, or in private practice in more recent years, I have learned significant life and work lessons. What really energizes me? Family and group therapy, lots of people in the room!”

Cynthia only provides services through teletherapy.
